Paula encouraged attendees that Poll Manager applications are being accepted by calling (864) 852-2089 or attending in person @ the Voter Registration and Elections Office in the County Administrative Office Building, 610 South Mine Street.
Voting Laws and Precinct Discussion
Carol Williams stated that the Voting laws are being changed and that if you have been affected by the redistricting map, a new voter card will be sent by mail at the end of April/beginning of May. June 14th is the date of the first primary.
Ann-Marie Smith suggested that it may be a nice to have a “Get to Know” BBQ/informal meeting for the new Precinct Managers/Pollsters. Paula and others agreed that this was a great idea and Paula asked for other members to offer any other suggestions/ideas to be shared with the new McCormick DNC Chair Cherry Brown.
Marion Farina would like for Precinct leaders to meet to discuss ways to increase our community involvement.
General McCormick DNC Discussion
Members then stood up to share a little bit of information on their background and to offer suggestions to improve the DNC team and our community. Paula took notes of these comments/suggestions to share with Cherry Brown.
Mary Thompson suggested that we may want to discuss the General DNC meeting locations and days/times so that we can widen the area in McCormick county to include more participation from the community (different churches vs. County Library).
