Voter turnout in McCormick County is #1 in South Carolina!
PAULA’S REPORT FROM THE DEMOCRATIC WOMEN 1) Informing voters about polling locations Precinct 3, McCormick 1 Formerly: American Legion Hall Changed to: McCormick Old High School, 516 Mims Drive, McCormick, SC
Ricky Chiles and friends will stay in Am. Legion parking lot Nov. 3 all day to redirect anyone needing directions and to offer them maps to new location.
Precinct 4, McCormick 2 Formerly: County Court House Changed to: Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, 702 South Main St., McCormick
Map showing routes to new polling location delivered to Gwen Chiles’ office. Requested that the 8-1/2 x 11 map be posted on all courthouse doors before and after courthouse hours of business on Election Day. Maps will be handed out to those voters who need them.
No information about Bethany precinct. 2) State notification by mail of change of polling location: Informal survey of members present at the meeting to see if any had received notification of the polling changes. The state reportedly mailed notifications to those affected voters last Friday, but no one at the party meeting had received such notification
3) Final Voter Rally Saturday, October 31, 2020 Dorn Mill Complex 12pm - 2pm. Wallace Middleton's campaign is hosting the event and has invited all the Democratic candidates.
Mr. Jennings and Mr. Banks have confirmed. Also Ernest confirmed that some would be there from the Nicholson Campaign. Ann Parks confirmed she intends to attend.
4) CHRISTMAS Festival of Trees The Democratic Women recommend the party support providing a tree this year since we will not be having a Christmas parade.
Paula Goldman motioned that we at allocate $200 for tree and decorations. Joan Stockton seconded the motion. Tree needs to be ready by the first weekend in December. WE NEED someone willing to chair this committee. Please let Paula Goldman know your willingness to help ASAP.

Chairman’s message: Removal of political signs after the election. Alonzo requested help to make sure all our signs are picked up within a week after the election. A possible approach might be to designate 3 areas: Downtown McCormick, SLV, outside McCormick city limits.
Kenny Puckett volunteered his pick up truck to pick up downtown McCormick.
Could we have someone volunteer to pick up in SLV? Someone in the areas outside McCormick? We need volunteers of teams at least 1 or 2 to accompany the drivers.
It would make sense to save the signs in a specific area so they can be reused, if not for the same candidates, at least for the wires to be used with new signs.
Please contact Kenny Puckett (864-993-5938) if you can help with this project.
